ArchitecTor, PC was founded in 1997 by Tor Barstad. He has been a licensed architect since 1994 and gained his internship at  John T. Pela AIA and Associates after graduating from Washington State University in 1986.

He also has extensive European studies and architectural experience. He studied at the Architecture Association in London in his 4th year at WSU and did independent study at Norway's University of Oslo Architecture Program from 1990-1992.
